I do not...know where this drawing technically goes. As these two are fancharacters of Avatar: The Last Airbender, and (failingly attempts to) imitate(s) the show's style, I just...chose the closest category that came to mind.
The girl here is named plainly Iseul, and the name of the man she's guiding; Zheng Shi. In his "nightly robes". In the middle of the night. To god knows where.
For the sake of the meme, I'll list facts about them - hopefully facts that'll spark some little interest.
1. Zheng Shi is not at liberty to question authority, much less disobey them. Had he been employed during "The Blue Spirit" he - alongside his fellow Yu Yan Archers - wouldn't have hesistated to wound the Avatar or Zuko grievously. Having wormed his way into the squadron - through more or less illegal means - he was caught and blackmailed by the head of the Archers. Oddly enough, while his squad captain has no qualms of holding potent information against him, he likes Zheng and regards him fondly; but for his own reasons feels the need to keep Zheng under his thumb...
2. Zheng Shi lacks a good rapport with women. Partly because most women don't find an insecure man to be a turn on; partly because Zheng doesn't want to be a part of "psychological warfare" (ah, he and his bountiful understanding of the female sex). In his limited circle of friends, only two women - well, two girls - he finds worth tolerating. First being Iseul, the second; a thirteen-year-old, military destined, supreme Daddy's girl named Yoshi. Relations between Zheng and Yoshi are strained at times, thanks to their clashing personalities and Yoshi's crush on Zheng (of which he is painfully aware).
3. In terms of age, Zheng is in his 20's. He has auburn hair, dark brown eyes, and a dark tan. He has a muscular, tan physique. In technical terms, I'd say he's 5'9", though I haven't figured out an appropriate weight for him yet. ^.^; Another weird tidbit! He has a secret love for women's clothing and jewelry...talk about IRONY. XD
4. Iseul is a strong, supportive, though perhaps mentally unbalanced friend of Zheng's (see how she seems to hold two of his fingers in a suffocating grip...?). She started out in an miltia family, going to school like all the cool Fire Nation kids, but she had an unruly spirit and a fierce temper that was hard to break. At 10, she was booted out of school and out of home, finding herself at the bottom of the Fire Nation food chain. After a series of jobs, she settled for climbing up to the position of maid, and just barely crawled her way into the home Colonel Shinu. Now at 16, she's appears fragile and weak, but while she is close to being "broken", an undercurrent of strength still lies within her spirit.
5. That being said, Iseul isn't very book smart. She has an average intelligence and street smarts, but her lack of (interest for) worldly knowledge beyond "5th grade" leaves her ripe for manipulation. She had courtesy, reverence of the Fire Nation, and politeness beatened into her head, of course, so that she fills the role of servant...adequately.
6. Iseul is 16-18, I'm not quite sure where to put her age. Her hair is black, her eyes are a light brown, and she has a medium olive tan. She may be two to four inches shorter than Zheng, and she is slightly overweight.
lol, what the?...is that a kitten design stitched onto his robe? xD
asides from the slumped direction of their bodies (they seem to be slouching, and their bodies take up too much space of the picture), i think this was decently done. i like how the girl was drawn, especially the detail of her hair and the wrinkles in her clothes. the guy...well...he just looks awkward. it's kind of like you threw him in those clothes and it just looks...odd. i don't know how else to describe it.
overall, Iseul really makes the drawing for me. Zheng Shi...? not so much.
but the facts were really interesting. i really want to know what Zheng did to get inside the Yu Yan Archers, and whether or not he and Iseul...you know... "get together"?
God, I've been meaning to comment on these guys. I just get lazy and then accidentally deleted it out of my watchlist and just forgot to say anything, even though I wanted to!
I really like Iseul, because I'm fond of weak characters who are actually the strongest of all. Also, I love that she's kind of overweight, because I like to see variety and everyone always creates thin characters.
Zheng Shi seems pretty cool too and I like his silly kitten robes. I'd love to see a picture of Yoshi if you ever get the time to draw her up. She sounds vaguely Azula-like (what with the daddies girl bit).

Well, there's a reason I re-directed this deviation to scraps - after giving it a good, thorough look, I decided it simply wasn't good enough...though I would need something to look back to. Now I want to make separate references of Iseul and Zheng Shi, and draw them in a more wacky, cartoony style - simply because I found this drawing too stiff.
Nonetheless, I'm glad I got feedback from you!
While Iseul is still underdeveloped IMO, I definitely intend for others to mistakenly underestimate her, and then she'd school them all in a surprising moment of glory. It'd be very much like dorky o'le Neville pulling the sword out of the hat; a young and scrawny Arthur pulling the sword from the stone; etc., etc...
There's nothing wrong with a strong, fit body, but...I see your point. I've seen a lot of Avatard fanartists always go for the smexy skinny type...
Zheng Shi, on the other hand, I'm not sure if I'm so fond of. His character will need some rewriting, in terms of history and appearance, but the kitty 'jamas SHALL STAY. DAMMIT.
I hope to draw Yoshi soon, though hopefully she won't look like a Ty Lee clone (what with the flamboyant design I have in mind). And apart from being daddy's girl, she doesn't share many traits with Azula. She lacks patience for cat and mouse games, and she makes it clear what she wants and will outright go get it (LOL poor Zheng...).

I may or may not continue drawing n' developing these peeps in the future. It really depends on my mood, and when and if inspiration will strike me.
As for he and Iseul, ah...no, I think not. They're strictly platonic, and probably always will be.
